BANISH RELIGION thats my solution.
Have you ever gone to a temple, how about SiddhiVinayak Temple at Prabhadevi, Dadar west, Mumbai.
Thousands of devotees flock to that temple daily, on tuesdays and on Sankasti etc nearly a lakh devotees visit the temple and truck loads of flowers and garlands are offered which become garbage(you may give it a good name "nirmalya") within minutes or seconds of offering. Now just count such important temples all over India and imagine the amount of flowers offered. Had this land under floriculture been under agriculture then it would definately made a difference. Again count the amount of oil we burn in lamps kept in front of gods idols and photo frames. At my parents home the oil burned in lamps is four times of what is consumed. Every middle family burns one to three kilo grams of oil in those lamps. If this practice is discontinued then the land under oil seed cultivation can be utalised for cultivation of other pulses.
