Many factors are responsible for price rise....
a) When demand exceeds supply
b) Malpractices by middlemen in the supply chain(especially for agricultural goods)
c) Rising oil prices globally
d) Faulty fiscal and monetary policies
e) Finally but I think the main factor..TOO MANY PEOPLE !!!!!! No govt. can sustain such a huge population and most of it being non-productive.

The price rise may be due to various factors such as add. taxes (like edu. Cess,
service tax, VAT), transport cost, oil price, the global trend and of course, there is
some fault from the govt side also. So, Govt. must consider salary hike for the
employees accordingly with immediate effect . Now we can find the cheapest
commodity in the market is only shares.

Not a "failure", but it is a sure shot indicator that the government cares much about "India Inc" and not the "Republic of India." But sadly, most of our people belong to the "Republic of India" and only a negligible % belonging to "India INc."
Our wealth & resource & infra distribution mechanism nationwide is flawed, that's what prices rises indicate. Why should global prices affect supply & demand for products which we cn procure ourselves domestically???
I'm sorry, I don't buy the "global impact" argument. If there's indeed a "global impact"- we can introduce price ceilings & floors to counterbalance that, as they did in Belarus.

No i dont think so Price rise is a failuer of government . There are many factors determine the price rise factors and hence one cannot blame government only. partly we are also to be blamed for that.

I dont think we can attribute the price rise directly to the Government.. This seems to be a global phenomenon presently. But the government could surely do something and is trying to bring down the inflation rate, i believe.
