His osngs were quiet famous and also a rage in india
one cannot forget his renditions in maine pyaar kiya , baaghi , saajan , hum aapke hain koun , etc.
apart from that he was a leading singer in tamil , telugu , malyalam and kannada
he is still singing in tamil movies though
he is also a trained classical singer
and has achieved many a rocgnition , including a padma shree and a honorary doctorate conferred on him
he also won 6 national awards and 21 state awards and various other filmfare , and many other locasl awrds in south tallying up to more than 100 awards.
