In my opinion we should read in between the lines of any statement given out by politicians. "We trust you" is not an end statement. Neither it means anything since nothing has been spelled out that on what matter we "trust you" When two top leaders of two countries meet, they say things which carry more meaning than what appears on the face of it, OR no meaning at all even though people will find many meanings in it. "we trust you" puts the ball in Pak's court without giving any assurances by India, on any grounds whatsoever.

We have tried mistrust so far right from 1947 . Our rerusal fo compensate Pak by Rs. 55 crores these being the part of Pakistan of trhe All India (before Partition)revenue was the beginning and Mahatmajee had to intervene . Even if our refusal was a foolish step and would not have stood any international test it was taken out of mistrust for Pakistan that it may misuse these funds against us.Since then we have only been mistrusting,.Pak was not far behind.Even if in the initial stages even Mr; Jinnah had advised the King of Kashmir to opt either for Pak or India. neither of us trusted each other. Pakistan commited agtression under the garb of tribal attacks and we gave a fitting reply. But when the matter went up to UNO even if we promised that we would hold a plebicite we never did it on one pretext of the other. Also Pakistan did not vacate the ;independent Kashmir' occucpies it and in fact it gave away a part of it toChina when its claim over it was suspect. We bothentered into war i ...more
