Why Kargil war at Drass is still fresh in our memories. Dras is famous for the Kargil war which was fought in the year of 1999. National Highway 1D passes through Dras connecting Srinagar and Leh, The Tiger Hill & The Tololing ranges were captured by Pakistani Army and could directly block the NH1D. The famous three Heights which were recaptured during the war were the Tololing, Tiger Hill * The Three Pimples. The Whole of May & June the war was fought in these heights to eliminate the enemies from the heights which overlooked the National Highway 1D.

You are right maam, it was decided at the last moment to even commemorate the day, and a LEARNED M P even went to the extent of saying that it was not the war for the country, but for the party in power.

VERY VERY SAD commentary on the brave deeds of the Great Soldiers.

I bow in respect to all the members of armed forces and also to the fmilies of those who attained martyrhood.
