Most ancient city,Besides Jyotir-ling Vishwanath [lord of the world] it has Bhaironji,Mritynjay , Annapurna,Sankat Mochan & various Tantrik seats,legeneries like Aadi Shankar,Tulsi,Vishuddhanand,ahamana Malviyaji etc haqd it as their ctivities centre.
Maarkandeyaji is ab 35 Km while Sarnath outskirts ab 12 km.

Varanasi is in Uttar Pradesh state of India it is famous as it has the Linga of Lord Viswanatha, one of the 12 jyothir lingas and also it was here that Lord Krshn danced on the serpent King Kalia
