Both cases are at different footage..... Abu salem is under trial and Afzal has been convicted. One thing i would like to ensure u that palace of criminal justice based on the doctrine"Everyone is presumed to be innocent unless his guilt has been proved without any doubt".
Guilt of abu has to be proved so he has not been yet punished...and Afzal punishment has been determined already but excecution is pending due to undue interference of our beloved legislature.
Actually concept of "fair trial" which is logical part of Natural justice is to be followed in order to prevent RULE OF LAW on such a vast territory like India or other sovereign country. These stuffborn terrorist took benefit of these soft points enshrined in our system.

Our politicians only think abt. their chair. That should have with strong security to bag a vote bank of the traditional victims and the judiciary system follows them. They don't think what is behind it and after all another air Hijack can't be regretted to free Afjalguru. They have created as a example much before to free Massod Azhar.

In case of afzal it is vote bank politics as upa is thinking muslims will not vote if afzal is hanged specially in kashmir while saleem has been brought under condition that he will not be hanged tried in normal way, but his trial could have been expideted but again vote bank politics.upa wants to remain in power at any cost, a mentality of nehru gandhi family.

Now they are under trial only----their criminal activities are being assessed by the honble court, which if once established --may make them subject to appropriate punishments
