In all honesty, she deserves it every bit...ever since her journey as a miss world, Ash has represented india for multiple causes, issues, global meets, conferences and international podium of recognitions...she has given a facelift to the GQ(glamour quotient) of the nation in her own way...indian beauty has global recognition and acceptance, thanx to her continuous appearances in various international events, award functions, film festivals...she has been to cannes to represent indian creativity....she has catapulted the picture of indian cinema to an international arena...while in india she is a picture perfect bahu to doting first family of bollywood film industry....and a successful film actress...with various social causes and charity works to her credit...she is the woman of substance ...india craves to see each woman as....and dat i feel is no less an accompalishment...so with all this and more to her credit....she does deserve the official, national recognition with all its glory and ...more

Yes, she has made a distinguished contribution in the field of Indian cinema and besides she brought honor to the country by being 'Miss World'. Moreover the award Padma Shri stands fourth in the hierarchy of civilian awards after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. She deserved it.

Not at all .. in fact I am appalled by the fact that super rick people come in the list of most admired people etc etc ..... look at our bronze medal winner boxer - Vijendar - here is a guy who pursued his passion - in a sport that is not even a money spinner - and got us a bronze - and he was not even in the Presidents Medals list - can you beat that - guys his age take up call center jobs just like that ..... I hope you get what I am trying to convey
