Western culture is only one of the reason. The first and foremost reason is that women are becoming capable of standing on their own legs and are more assertive of their rights as human beings; Men are yet to recognise this need of the present day women; They still want to dominate the women and call all the shots in the family. The traditional way of looking at marriage as a bond between man and woman where man is supreme and woman is submissive will no longer work. Both man and woman should enter marriage as equal partners with equal concern for each others well being and dignity.

It is the education, which inturn removes ignorance, and cultivates good culture in anyone .
Women now being ,getting the privilage of education ,has made her aware of her duties and responsibilities.
Previously ,the women were getting inhuman treatment from society ,but her unawareness was the main factor .in not opposing anyone and then the marraiges were considered to be successful.!!! It was pathetic..there was no one to support her, including her parents.
Now,education in women ,has given her awareness of her dignity. The society as usual wants to treat women ,as earlier, which if not tolerated by women ,leads to divorce.
So I beleive,it the SITUATION in anyones life that leads to divorce ,and no one is to be blamed .
Of course Some women, exploits husbands also, having law in their favour !!This is also wrong .
Marraige is the beautiful relation .to be respected by both parterners, else divorce is the better option.
At the end life should be smooth for every one.

No The western culture is in no way responsible for failed marriages in India. It is just that previously women were uneducated. so they were not aware about their rights also they were little weak compared to todays women. I think it is good why shoulkd women suffer all the time

YES. Divorce is not a taboo in Western Culture. Divorce was a taboo in Indian culture. By apeing western culture of divorce rather than adjustment in marriage, marriages in India are failing. In western culture after marriage the married couple live separately and ditch their parents. If a indian boy prefers to stay with his parents which is indian culture it may cost him his marriage as many Indian girls prefer to live separate from their inlaws.

I do counselling and in many cases of failed marriage it is observed that sexual dissatisfaction of the women is a major cause. It is observed that in cases where the man does not have his wife atleast twice in a week with each session lasting minimum 30 minutes tend to fail. All other problems crop up because of this. -DSK Rao

It is often found difficult to strike the proper balance between individualism and awareness of being a part of a larger social machine. Formerly the child of a couple could bind the two for life notwithstanding any differences between the two. But nowdays excessive individualism disregards even parental bondage along with the social one. Human life is difficult from time immemorial. Indians compounded this difficulty by their own thoughtlessness.
