A reporter asked him What now after this, You say that "those who are corrupt should be hanged, is that not against Gandhian principles? Anna answers, again in Hindi, That is why I have said that, today, in many things, along with Gandhi we have to look towards Shivaji. [Unclear] Patel committed a mistake, and Shivaji had the mans hands cut off. This policy of Chhatrapati, in many ways, we have to think about. Hundred per cent non-violence is not possible. Sometimes, even this has to be done, and that is why I have been saying that these people should be hanged Kiran Bedi interjects, Anna is not taking away due process he is going by the due process, the point is [that] economic offences today in our country are bailable, [are punished] by fines, minimum imprisonment; [theres] no recovery of property, it is a joke.

Yes ,obviously corruption is the burning issue and we all should unconditionally stand by the side of Annajee but probably we are closing our eyes on other important issues like child marriage , child labor , dowry death , killing Female Feticide, global warming, terrorism which are much more important for raising our voice . Yes , UPA is callous but probably we are more callous . We are carried away by recent happenings forgetting other more burning issues ,.Most of us wake up after seeing such incidents . Then we forget and relish the tea with our sweetheart in the garden chair , reading newspaper and tell a desh ka kuch nehi hoga This is the cause for most of us to prove this proverb as a blind truth Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once Lets at least do our part of the job by being proactive, as u rightly told, and make the bright horizon , for our future

Only yesterday I was watching the news, I don't remember which channel it was with so many news channels nowadays. They were talking about a poll that was taken regarding the Lokpal Bill - which showed that 65 percent of the people did not anything about it. Does it ring a bell somewhere to your statement of SECOND INDEPENDENCE FIGHT taking place with a majority not knowing about it. Even if the Bill is passed as we want it to be, what guaranteed is there that it will be managed and implemented by honest men and honest women? Greed for power and paisa has corrupted many. Cases in our country takes centuries to be solved (many remain unsolved with victims having gone to the next world) and here the Lokpal people talk about settling the case in SIX MONTHS time! With so many cases of corruption we know now and millions more popping up once people have this right, how in the LOKPAL's name can things be solved and the corrupt be brought to book? Unless we the citizens change, nothi ...more
