In my view, works of art, cinema & literature should NEVER be subject to bans. Actually MF Hussian & his fate in India is tragic, because he looked @ ancient India through the eyes of an ancient Indian- whereas modern folk look @ ancient India w/a judeo-Christian eye. Indian Hindus today by & large follow Judeo-Christian puritanistic value systems, and not traditional Hindu value system. Traditional Hindu value system looked @ nudity as something innate, something beautiful, and something worth studying in artform....but modern Indian Hindus look at nudity like how old fashioned Christian nuns do, where nudity is always something disrespectful & dirty. That's British influence I suppose. Actually, MF's got a better understanding of old India than most so called "Indians." And to answer your Q- MF's film was reaccepted for screening. India is a democracy, and we are certainly mature enough to handle art forms & expressions. Even if u don't like MF, do ...more
