Because it attracts occultism, accidents etc.
In Indian astrology too, the eighth house in a horoscope is considered for death or age. The lord of this house is not supposed to be auspicious. The numerology has been written by one who learnt it from India; and he had realised the impact of number eight; he has presented in his own manner. The numerology is the product of one single man's mind. It has not evolved after contribution of thousands of philosophers for centuries; so numerology should not be taken as foolproof and a branch of knowledge. It has the assumptions of one person guided mostly on his own whims in addition to what he learned..
