This beach is unique in that the water recedes from 1 to 4 kilometers during the ebb tide. We had a field station at Balasore. Our Scientists were studying the horse shoe crabs.

It is a unique beach in that that the sea water recedes about 5 kms during low tide and advances to the shore line again during high tide, each day.
