The International Olympic Council repeatedly warned the Indian Olympic Association as per the charter and constitution of IOC, but IOA went ahead with elections and got the executive committee members elected through selection. So IOC was left with no option but to ban IOA. This means that Indian sportsmen cannot participate in international tournaments till the ban is lifted.
