There are eight main Chinese festivals , which include: the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Pure Brightness Festival (Qingming festival), the Dragon Boat Festival, Double Seventh Festival(the 'Chinese Valentine's Day'), the Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival(Elder Day ), and the Winter Solstice Festival

1) Chinese New Year where we celebrate in for 15 days. On 8th day of Chinese New Year, the Hokkien people will celebrate Chinese New Year merrily. On the 15th day of Chinese New Year, young unmarried women gather to toss tangerines into the sea or river in a hope that their future spouse will pick it up. It is also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

2) Boat Racing Day will be celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. This is the day where boat racing organization will be organised and dumpling would be wrapped, cook and eaten.

3) On the 7th day of the 7th month is another Chinese Valentine Day.

4) Mooncake festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month. This is the time where we would carry lantern and eat mooncake and drink tea. According to the old folks. The moon at this time is the most pretty and if you look closely, you could see a lady chopping a tree with her rabbit at the moon.

Traditional festivals of China are colorful and rich in content. This is an important part of Chinese culture.

Traditional Festivals: Most of the traditional festivals in China are based on the Chinese lunar calendar Chinese New Year in February; International Labour Day the first week of May, and to celebrate National Day the first week in October.
