Q.

I have come across many christians using names such as Deepak, Manoj, Pradeep, etc. Then why are all Indian names referred to as Hindu names?

Deepak, Manoj and Pradeep are Indian / Hindi names.. so it is good for them that they did not bring Religion in their Individually.. It is good.. for them Religion is a private affair.

Since Christianity is a Western Religion.. people expect that Indian Christians will have English names.. but it is not mandatory.

There was bill in parliament during 1970s by O.P. Tyagi, MP called Freedom of religion Bill to regulate random conversion of Poor Hindus to Christianity by enticement and in disguise of charity, education and health care. Mtr Teresa was at her peak. She immediately changed her sacred Heart to Nirmal Hridy etc etc and the wave swept all over India to hide their conversion activities they stopped changing the names of new convert or rice Christians. In Kerala Indianisation of church came up as a movement.
In Andrapradesh there are some Christian evangelists who wear saffron robe to dupe gullible Hindus to attract for conversion.
But recently after being victim of racial discrimination (in the west) many rich and educated Indian Christians give purely Indian names to stress on their nation identity.

Initially the citizens of the country were all Hindus...they later converted to Christianity or Islam...the mental affinity remains in some and they keep names which feel nice and meaningful to them.
