Better-than-expected earnings today, 25 June 2009. The company did not report Q4 March 2009, results separately.
Unitech's net profit declined 28.23% to Rs 739.66 crore on a 17.33% decline in total income to Rs 2454.91 crore in the year ended March 2009 over the year ended March 2008.
Unitech is focusing on low-cost mass housing projects to prop up volumes and Unitech's managing director Sanjay Chandra said there was good demand.
The company expects to get bookings for 20 million square feet of new development, the firm said in a statement. Chandra had told media last week Unitech sold about 4,000 houses in the last two-and-a-half months.
