The ghost of match fixing has returned to haunt world cricket with British tabloid The News of the World revealing that Pakistani cricketers were allegedly involved in deliberately underperforming in the Lord's Test that England won by an innings to wrap up the series 3-1. The allegations on Pakistani players have caused uproar in Pakistan and shaken a sport that prides itself on being considered synonymous with fair play. More skeletons tumbled out on Monday in the match-fixing saga with reports saying that the first Test between England and Pakistan in the just-ended series and Sydney Test between Pakistan and Australia in January were also fixed.
