With the mass marriages, conducted at many places nowadays, any number is possible. In my state (Karnataka), we have a very famous divine place called Dharmasthala where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Sri Manjunatha. Here, every year (since1972) mass marriages are conducted where, in the single day, in the single Muhuarat hundreds of couple get married (this year 157 couple). This entirely free service (including Mangalsutra, clothes, food etc.) is open for all, irrespective of region/caste/creed. This noble deed is organized by the temple under the auspices of the Dharmadhikari (the main administrator) Sri Veerendra Heggade, whom the devotees (across the region/religion) revere as the \"The waling God\".
