(2) Samrat Chandragupt Vikramaditya : He was one of the best ruler in India , He laid down principles of modern state and his empire was from Bengal in east to Todays afganistan and south India . He reitered as a jain monk in todays karnataka.
Chandragupt Vikramaditya stopped Sychetian Invasion.

(3) Samudragupt : A great patron of Arts and culture.

There were to name in one answer. The old timers Emperor ashok was known so for his authority and never loosing a battel, being a best ruler in terms of Rajyog he was good, but was he good with his deciples needs to be judged by time. Prince siddharth was a noblest of the lineage and indeed one of the few noble men who walked the earth, but could he have made a good ruler is a question lost in time. Chatrapati Shivaji, Bajirao Peshwa (I) Perhaps Rana Sanga were indeed one of the greatest rulers all in terms of there tryumphs and there reputation with there own masses. truly legendary and glorious in all aspects of life. while we talk of such legends we cannot forget of inumerous others who might seem small compared to these individuals but never the less contributed immensely to cultural heritage of India like Akbar, Krishnadevraya , *Raya's, Rana pratap were legend in there own rights.
