Haiti, a tropical area, has a vast number of species and is considered as one of the Caribbean's biodiversity "hot spots". It has a variety of ecosystems ranging from mangrove forests to coral reefs, wetlands to high altitude mountains. There are mammals, reptiles, amphibians, avian, etc that vary based on specific habitat. There are also species unique to Haiti.
