Professional prefer Canon n Nikon but for personal use I think Sony is da best.

Which has the best optical clarity. use any from PENTAX, CANNON, NIKON or Mamiya. for genral use buy one with minimum 10x zoom and above 8 mega pixel or 10 to 12 mega pixel. camera manufacturers are tricky. for eg. if they will give you 12 megapixel the zoom will be reduced . or zoom value increased and megamexel reduce / vary to adjust the cost. SONY gives battery + charger including the whole cast price. high mega pixel value ( above 6 or 8) is for those who want enlarged sizes for printing

I had one yashika , which has got everything manual ,like focus,apparture,shutter speed etc, it all needs to use old role for it but now a days digital camera has significant advantages,

Go to the store and ask the sale's man for feature's offered in camera's nowaday's check for the feature's u need and your budget - TOO MANY FEATURE'S can be a pain at time's - go for something that's EASY TO USE if u'r not planning on SHOOTING ANY WILDLIFE or MODEL'S :)
