Guide. I believe it is one of the movies which has got almost everything right. A hero Raju who supports and encourages the dance talent of Rosy, a Christian, wife of another person. Released in 1965, this potrayal of another person's wife was a big risk, but the producer-director pair of Dev and Vijay Anand believed in it and potrayed it in a most decent way. Great performances by Dev Anand & Waheeda Rehman. Great lyrics by Shailendra and meloflous music by S.D.Burman which had memorable songs like 'Kaato se kheech ke ye aachal' by Lata, the soothing 'Din Dhal Jaaye Raat na jaye' by Rafi Sahab and all songs of Guide remain evergreen hits. Great cinematography shot in the locales of the beautiful Rajasthan. Yes the screenplay was slightly different from R.K.Narayan's Sahaitya acadami award winning novel 'The Guide' especially the end, but Guide remains to date a complete package of art, beauty and entertainment.
