The one of USA is much simpler and clear although it was drafted practically single handed by Thomas Jefferson ,Ours is very complicated and quite important things were not considered like after death of President Zakir Hussain and resignation of Vice President V.V.Giri....there was an impasse and was somehow tackled by summoning LokSabha and making an ammendment to the effect that in this situation Chief Justice of SupremeCourt will be sworn in as Acting President whereas in US Constitution line of succession is upto NINE personnel. We tend to do things on ad-hoc basis.Just Count the ammendments in constitutions of both countries and you will get your reply

The INDIA constitution must be the largest one compared with the constitution of the U S A , However ,the U S constitution is more global in amplitude and a valuable blue book on DEMOCRACY . Leaving the INDIAN constitution much desired.
