Depends what type of car you are looking for. If you can go to the top of the range then Mercedes outclass BMW with their style and elegance - just look at the AMG and the SLR! BMW don't have anything to compare. However in the cheaper market range BMW have more choice but less prestige.
All depends on how the car will be used and how much you can afford to spend.

I selected this question to read the answer and not the question because I am to change my vehicle. Petrol is very cheap at the place where I stay now - hence I like to fulfill my desire to use these type of royal car.
Both the varities mentioned in the question are originated in Germany and have drawn a lot of discussion on tea table about their facilities against the invoice. I personally have done a survey and concluded that BMW is a performance driving car with racy lines and design. A MB is more related to an older persons car with comfort and luxury in mind. Not the car for me. I checked and found BMW out sells MB every year.... that says a lot right there to which car most prefer. I currently have decided to own a M3 and wouldn't go for C63 AMG.
I might have gone for a Ferrari or Austin Martin (choice has been kept for my beloved for future) ya..but definitely not for a MB now because I feel MB a vehicle of a retired person. Sad, i know...but it's true. Just ask around. Howe ...more
