I will not give the example of any politician, but that of shrewd businessman Mr. Raju of Satyam Computers. He drew money from Satyam coffers and purchased benaami property. When he knew that he can no longer hide the scam he surrendered himself instead of fleeing to any safe foreign heaven. Satyam Computers was also listed at American Stock exchanges and the fraud that he was involved would have got him a prison term of upto 20 years. He knew if he fled to any other country the Americans will find him and extradite him. So he wilfully surrendered himself to the Indian Legal system.
