Bear with what they say, and remember Our bondman David, lord of might, Lo! He was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). Lo! We subdued the hills to hymn the praises (of their Lord) with him at nightfall and sunrise, And the birds assembled; all were turning unto Him. We made his kingdom strong and gave him wisdom and decisive speech. [Surah Sad (Chapter of Sad), Verses 17-20]

And We verily gave knowledge unto David and Solomon, and they said: Praise be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves! [Surah Al-Naml (Chapter of the Ant), Verse 15]

And your Lord is Best Aware of all who are in the heavens and the earth. And we preferred some of the prophets above others, and unto David We gave the Psalms. [Surah Al-Isra (Chapter of the Night Journey), Verse 55]

And when they went into the field against Goliath and his hosts they said: Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk. So they rout ...more

By the will of God they defeated them, and David killed Goliath, and God gave him kingship and wisdom, and taught him whatsoever He pleased. If God did not make men deter one another this earth would indeed be depraved. But gracious is God to the people of the world.

Are you talking of King David who was a perfect male specimen and sculptors were inspired by his body to make statues? Or you are talking of someone else?
