Ideally what you need in a first aid kit is a first aid manual, sterile dressings, adhesive tape, at least six triangular bandages, safety pins in a variety of sizes, two crpe bandages, sterile non-fluffy, absorbent gauze, round-ended scissors, tweezers, vinyl gloves, antiseptic wipes, eyewash solution and a thermometer.

Cotton, antiseptic, band-aid are usually kept. I feel there can be a booklet in both local and english language on First aid steps based on the symptom along with the emergency contact numbers.
