I don't agree.
A lot of people spend half their time wishing for things they could have if they didn't spend half their time wishing.
Give me strength to dare every opportunity
- I consider my self HAPPY. There are two aspects:
1) I consider my self Lucky.
2) I believe in Philosophy- Keep trying until you succeed - but continue to be satisfied after doing work to best of your abilities (Irrespective of results)
To be more elaborate:
Be Positive and consider yourself Lucky. You will be destined to be successful.
Luck has 3 parameters Time, Place and knowledge.
You have no control on time. But with you can learn to manage time and exploit available opportunity each time to increase your knowledge and utilize your knowledge. ...more

Anyone who thinks like that might just as well never get out of bed in the morning - that way they will never have an accident, never have an opportunity, never have a life. Of course we should have expectations - they may not always be fulfilled but that is part and parcel of the experience of life.

Expect definitely because hope and expectations keep us alive.
But at the same time be prepared for the worst all the time so that if the result does not match your expectations then you won't crash emotionally.

When you dont have desires, you dont have to go through pain. When you dont have needs, you dont have worry. When you dont have expectation , you wont be disappointed ?
Well we are human beings. I cant always be happy, I cant run away from worries, I cant remain always without being disappointed. The best way is to:
- Dont have un-necessary desires. You cut shot your pain
- Ask yourself. Is this need whcih I dont necessarily need? so you cut short your sufferings
- When you expect, people also expect from you. So you cant always get what you want. See the brighter side, what others gave you, contribute more to get back more. You would be less disappointed.
