HM in India and Toyota in Japan were started almost at the same time. But where is HM today and where is Toyota today. What made this change?

Hindustan Motors was operating and flourishong in a closed economy, without the threat of competition Hence, HM was happy minting money with the Ambassador cars churned out on the obsolete technologies of the fifties ! HM didnt see the necessity to innovate or invest funds on R and D , as they were enjoying a protected market But, Toyota of Japan was opearating in a highly competitive m internal market that is Japan Hence, like all Japanese companies subjected to competition from domestic as well as International players, Toyota was hweavily investing in R and D, always improving on the technology to produce world class engines with proven performance and fuel efficiency Their commitment to product innovation and world class technology helped them carveout a special niche for themselves both within and outside Japan With the liberlisation of economy, foreign car manufactures started pouring into India and when HM woke up from its slumber, it was all too late The fate of th ...more

But can see the difference in quality living 100 years is not criterion but how u live is importnt
