Arjuna, the great warrior, chose Lord krishna to be with him to fight the Krukshetra war. However , on seeing his very close relatives on the other side whom he was supposed to kill, thought he would commit a sin thereby and refused to fight. Krishna was in this Avatar to complete the task and destroy the evil. He started counseling Arjuna about the role he had to play, the karma he had to carry out without attachment (nishkama karma), that he had right over the duty and not over the results, that what
(everything)would happen was because of HIM, that Arjuna was only an instrument and that how Arjuna could eventually take refuge in HIM. Now convinced,Arjuna went about accomplishing his task.
