The words H and N in the H1N1 stand for two proteins found on the surface of the swine flu virus: hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N).
WHAT IS SWINE FLU : Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses (H1N1 subtype) that causes regular outbreaks in pigs.
