Normally in the salary we earn, there is basic pay and other allowances. Allowances comprise of Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Interim Relief etc. In addition, some get Overtime Allowance, Washing Allowance etc. The total amount we get as salary is considered as emoluments.
