When the visas for a visiting country are issued on a separate paper rather than on the passport it is called stapled visa. Aften the immigration officers wont' stamp your passport if you are caring a stapled visa's.

Visa on separate piece of paper stapled to passport instead of pasting the same on passport. China is presently issuing stapled visa to residents of J&K and Arunancahl Pradesh who wish to travel to China.
