Music is a perfect art. It is there from the time life originated in this universe, in the form of rhythmic heart beats, flow of river, humming of birds.
Music is divided into two categories:
Classical Music and Light Music. There is yet another category which can be considered in between the two, that is semi-classical.
Of which Classical music is based on scientific (Physics and Mathematics) or technical knowledge and is practised with dedication and hard work. It is a scientific study of different ragas, taals (beats) in perfect pitch.
Classical music can be Indian or Western.
Indian classical music is broadly divided in to Carnatic and Hindustani.
We had our own style of music well before the arrival of Aryans, based on the notes by saints Bharath (Natya shastr), Mathang (Brihadeshi), and Shargdev (Sangeetha Ratnakaram) . The pure form of Indian classical music is the Carnatic one. With the influence of Mughals, Persians, Arabians, and Egyptians we got exposed to Hindustani
