China is testing the waters. Pakistan did it in 1965 in the Runn of Kutchch, china did it in 1962 and same is being done here. India has to show a strong face otherwise we will send wrong singles which will encourage the other side to undertake a misadventure. Chinese understand one language and that is strong will. After the Phokaran blasts the mosts subdued reactions came from Beijing. If we stop work and agree to whatever China says the demands will increase and the wrong signal that India is weak will be understood.

The Chinese army who stopped the said construction work has alleged that the area belonged to them and no road would be constructed there that is far from truth. China occupying 90,000 sq km of land on the eastern side of the border; China has also occupied 38,000 sq km of territory in Aksai Chine plateau in the western Himalayas..There is no denial that India has boarder dispute with China and despite several rounds of talks, the issue still remains unresolved with the China .
