Most castes are illiterate, so they will not be able to run a government. It is better to educate all Indians and bring them into understanding the meaning of 'dictatorship' and 'parliamentary democracy'. People are deprived in this country as inflation numbers go up. Food, clothing and education is for the rich. Many villages in India are still without electricity and schools have no drinking water to give to its next generation, or at least when the leaders talk of patriotism mixed with 'next generation' ideologies and path of progress. Society is becoming narrow day by day. Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams went into space; but they could not bring news about the casteism hatred in India and why it is so. Nuclear deal issue was jeopardised by the Leftists. So why think of 6400 States? let us think of 6400 ways to contribute towards eradicating poverty and deprevation of the masses.

No repeat No. Now it is time to make bigger states and reorganising smaller states to bigger and avoid unnecessary expenditures on unwanted power blocks/heads. More money can be spent on developmental activities instead of paying salaries to so many politicians and other authorities.
