Q.

Have you ever been victim of nightmare of pre-paid at Delhi Airport? Outside domestic terminal though the pre-paid taxis are supposed to line up for passengers after they get their sip from the counter but passengers wait with slips as taxi drivers behave rudely and apathetic airport staff look the other way. Chaos is an everyday event at the airport as passengers scramble to get into cabs. Last year being alone I had to face a very rough time and finally I had to seek a Police Officer who helped me in getting a cab.

This is the norm rather than the exception. Public utilities in India are a bully indeed and run under their own priveleges and whims. They dont believe in customer services and are opposed to comptetion of any form. Privatisation and strict regulation on a large scale are the way ahead. They should take a cue from Mumbai where the Taxi drivers have to obey rules or get a raw deal from the cops. Only then will the situation improve.
