Q.

According to a foreign media, an interaction between the chiefs of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, ISI, and India's Research and Analysis Wing, R&AW, is presently under examination by the Pakistani authorities. Even if it happens, do you think it will serve any purpose? Your views?

1) Pak s ISI owes its present status to the technical knowhow and the training it got from CIA. Despite that ISI kept fooling the Americans for almost a decade about the presence of Osama Bin Laden.
2) CIA changed its stand vis a vis ISI after it killed Bin Laden in Abotabad without the knowledge of ISI. Things have not gone well thereafter to ISI and it is the most distrusted Intel Agency in the world today. The west is now fully aware of the machinations of ISI that it has been using the terrorist organizations like LeT as a front for its military purposes.
3) The fully isolated ISI is also choked of US funds. In order to survive, it may do whatever it takes including the drama of reconciliation with the foolish Indian political leadership.
4) Any intelligent guy under similar circumstances would seize the opportunity to kill such an organization. I do not think that the Indian leadership has such a gut to do so since they never showed the nerve to fight back the terrorism mast ...more

It will be very foolish to trust Pakistan at any level. Their credibility is zero all over the world.

Honestly it will serve no purpose. We are still not at the level of confidence enjoyed by two teams like say the American & British Intelligence Agencies.

Any such meeting will be approached by both the concerned sides with a lot of circumspection and at best they will try to size up each other better.

The trust deficit will take ages to be wiped out, if at all a serious attempt is made by both sides.

It will be a meeting to discuss compromises. For example Indians will say say that we will take action against such and such people while you should take action against so and so.

Pakistan is a country fully dependent of heir Army in general n ISI in particular. They have unlimited influence over the elected Govt. The Govt. can not advise them .Rather they r not prepared to accept the advice of the Govt. They continue to influence all decisions of the Govt. In such a situation,it would be suicidal to believe n engage them in with our RAW .At least I am not in favor of his.

Pakistani officers and diplomats are most obstinate and unrealistic persons in the world. They will make hundred mistakes and yet will not agree they did even one. So there is no chance of agreement on anything..
