I want to buy a laptop. What are the technical things I need to look for. Please give me a detailed list of the things I need to look for. The computer is just for Home use.
How much time will you spend using the laptop on the move - long periods of time regularly, or just the occasional hour or two.
What software will you need to run - now and in the future.
Does the laptop need to be as compact and light as possible, or are a full-size keyboard and built-in features more important.
How fast does the laptop need to be.
How much memory do you need for current and future use.
Does the software you want to run require a video and/or sound card.
What external devices do you want to be able to connect to your laptop? How many ports will you need to do this, and do you know what type you need.
Most PCs sold in office supply and major big box electronics stores come preloaded with Microsofts consumer operating system. Deploying PCs powered by Windows XP Home or Vista Home Basic might not appear problematic, at least at first. In many cases, it may even appear beneficial. Why pay for the more expensive business edition if all you really need to do is write documents, crunch spreadsheets, send and receive e-mail, and use the Internet?

in 25k you will get most best laptops.
a good hdd space probably above 100 gb and ram is cheap these days even if u get 1 gb you can purchase another 1gb for 1000 rupees.
If you intend to install vista in near future, so try to go in for a laptop with onboard graphic accelerator like ATI Radeon or Nvidia cuz vista is graphic intensive.
