Bhp is brake horse power.actually whatever energy engine of our automobile generates,a small proportion of it is lost in friction or transmission of power to wheels.for example ford fiesta [diesel] generates nearly 75 hp[horse power] but we can utilise only 68 hp.the rest of 7 hp is lost either as friction or for transmission.so we say that this car generates 68 bhp.so bye bye.take care.
