Q.

I think the IPL Raids and other actions will never yield any result. It will be an eye wash after spending crores like what happened in Bofors' case. In fact the govt. cud open a new war front just divert the attention of the common man from the ever increasing prices of essential foods. Vande Mataram

What ever any govt does looks like a trick to all those who are the supporters of the other party which is in opposition. What's new in that?? Bofors had and still has a huge stone wall namely Swiss laws in front of it. IPL raids will yield results if the moolah is not yet sent out of country. But you won't bel;ieve it as you don't want to.

The people involved are some of the Ministers of supporting party to Govt: Under these circumstances, how the poor Govt: can take action against them. But public has to be satisfied that actions are being taken so that there is no immediate problem. This is the way of life with the Congress Govt: To remain glued with the Chair, they can do every thing and bring their all near and dear into partliament. You may even find that a child in the womb may be contesting election, if the govt has
it' s say.

The problem w/ raids and strict action on upper tier interests in India is that they materialize only after all the damage has been done. If I was a rich European guy who was researching a top secret medicine, if I needed test subjects w/o authorization, I would choose India in a jiffy.

If IPL is indeed detected for match fixing and betting, I say the govt should simply force IPL to change its name to WCEL (World Cricket Entertainment League), and simply permit betting- just as how WWF (World Wrestling Federation) had to change its name to WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)....

This will b a tough case to crack for sure because we have already seen evidence of phony companies operating out of Mauritius channeling benami share funds into IPL franchises. Once a case has international scope and reach, it becomes impossible to crack in India because Indian agencies don't have any solid MoU w/ a foreign govt.
