Acidity means felling of burning in the food pipe where as gas is the formation of gas in the stomach .This gas will wither be released by wind pass or by mouth. There are many temporary quick reliefs for gas problem as some tablets, eno powder or some yoga excercise but for acidity you have to take many precautions and medicines too. This discription is of a lay man not of a doctor.

you simply feel the diff..... Gas will upset your belly, and acid gives rather pain and burn and need to eat/drink something.
Gas CAN be originating from to weak digestive secretions while acid is rather from too much secretions in stomac. The last occurs even with most people when you wait too long for next meal... And gases occurs with most people when eating a lot of beans and pulses...
