Differences between American and British English include pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary (lexis), spelling, punctuation, idioms, and formatting of dates and numbers.

American: flavor, honor, analyze,color etc.
British: flavour, honour, analyse,colour etc.

The american english is a shortened version of the british english, only thing is pronounciation is kept same, but spelling is given a go by

Jai shri ram americans write whatever is being pronounced, no hidden alphabet but british english is complicated.

The US go by pronunciation, in contrast, UK. UK English is grammatically correct, which Indians follow.
