Visa is the company which give franchies to other banks to issue debit/credit cards. there is no particular advantage to have a visa card, even master card is qually good. the service is given by the provider of the card, like state bank hdfc bank etc. it is the service provider who matters more than visa of master card

Debit Card is issued to the person who is having account in the Bank. When the purchase is effected against Debit Card, the amount of purchase is immediately debited to the account of the user. As for Credit Card, one is getting credit (time limit) to effect payment. When the purchase is made against Credit Card, the same is recorded by the concerned bank and a statement is sent to the Credit Card holder and he has to effect payment by the due date mentioned on the statement.
