In the 8th century, the Persian chemist Jbir ibn Hayyn (Geber) described 46 recipes for producing colored glass in Kitab al-Durra al-Maknuna (The Book of the Hidden Pearl), in addition to 12 recipes inserted by al-Marrakishi in a later edition of the book. By the 11th century, clear glass mirrors were being produced in Arab Islamic Spain

Abbas Ibn Firnas:
I will go with Ibn al-Haytham, He is actually the father of modern scientific method. Westerners will scream and thumbs down when I say this but..Truth is truth. We would not have the advancements in science that we have today if it wasn't for many Islamic scientists.
