Pure Gold is very ductile and almost impossible to make ornaments out of. It is therefore blended with other metals to make ornaments. 24 K (24carat), also called 999 means 99.9% pure Gold. 22K or22 carat (also called 916) is 91.6% pure and rest is other metals.
