In 1931, Brahmins accounted for around 6% of the total population of India. Today, it comprises around 5% of the total population.

Those who adopted the profession of worship having knowledge of Brahma, do not come into percentage. Being son of Brahmin, who can not be said as Brahmin as per The Geeta, still controls the power in India my be 2% or less.

Recent Census report reveals : -
SC - 15 per cent
ST - 27 per cent
SEBC & OBC - 30 per cent
Muslim & Christians - 22 per cent
General caste - 5 percent
Brahmins & others - less than 1 per cent.....
