Then who should be the president?? That is the big question. Even if Congress (I) is labelled a corrupt party, people have voted it to power. That means people want corruption. When mandate is in the favor of corruption, what difference does it make, who is President and who is not?

His credentials are as good as mulayam , laloo , chiddhu or name any politician , you can not become president unless you are slave of SG , JUST see present President to understand
he is imposed due to political marketing and deals inside with allies and not by popularity or consensus
such president will ultimately serve SG and no other options exist

Choice of Indian Presidential candidate is probably made at Washington or New York or any of the world financial capitals. Pranab by failing to introduce FDI in retail, proposing a retrospective tax on foreign acquisition and merger like the Vodaphone deal etc has probably lost the confidence of the world power. They probably would prefer someone else handling the finance and probably would have sent their orders to their agent at 7RCR to make Pranab redundant by making him a President. With Pranab out of Finance Ministry and probably. Mamata out of UPA will put Congress at the mercy of goon filled parties like SP, DMK etc. The game plan could be to bring in someone at Finance Ministry who will carry out the orders from the world rulers and also cover up all the economic scams that have been unearthed so far. As for Credentials, Pranab definitely has better credential to be a president then many of his predecessors. In fact it is Pranab's honest approach to issues and allowing agenci ...more

Pranab Mukherjee was getting too powerful as FM and dictated his policies and as a leader of the house he at times also overshadowed DrMMS and his policies.he was also emerging too strong and thus dictating his policies over and above many senior Congress ministers.Hence just to cut his powers and give him a golden hand shake , he has been nominated as the Presindential candidate. This certainly marks the end of his political career!
