Skipping or jumping ropes is a wonderful aerobic exercise that can strengthen your back, heart and lungs. You can burn around 210 calories in a matter of 17 minutes.

A good exercise - but do it on soft ground or lawns as doing it on a cemented floor or tiles may lead to damage of the phalanges of the feet and the knee joints due to the continuous and heavy load on them due to jumping on hard surface!

Though its a good exercise. I dont think it should be continued after 25-28 years as one can freq see probs related to knees/toes. Best is the brisk walking which doesnt harm anyway. Running is ok always if not done on cemented path. One should have a comfortable and cushioned shoes for any of the exercises.
So be cautious.
